Why Can't I Get Pregnant? — You're Not Broken
EVIDENCE-INFORMED · NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL CARE · WRITTEN FOR YOU AND YOUR PARTNER
A letter, before anything else

You're not broken. You were never given a way to find out what's actually going on.

You know the cycle. The two-week wait that feels like two months. Checking, then telling yourself not to check. The test that says what it always says.

You've smiled through the questions at family gatherings. You've stopped announcing when you're "trying" because the silence afterward is worse than the question itself.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, a thought you don't say out loud: what if this is my fault?

The problem was never that you weren't trying hard enough.

Here's what nobody sits you down and explains: "trying to conceive" advice online is almost never built around investigation. It's built around tips — foods, teas, positions, apps — as if the answer is a hack you haven't found yet.

But conception depends on dozens of interacting factors, in both partners, and most of them are invisible until someone actually helps you look. Ovulation timing. Hormone patterns. Structural factors. Male fertility, which almost never gets mentioned even though it's involved in roughly half of all cases. Nobody is guessing wrong on purpose. Nobody has simply given people a clear, honest way to investigate what's true for them.

That gap — between "just relax" and an actual fertility clinic workup — is where most women spend years. Confused, blaming themselves, cycling through advice that was never built for their specific situation.

Why I built this

My name is Ngozi. I'm not a doctor. I'm someone who spent years in that exact confusion — apps that disagreed with each other, advice from well-meaning aunties, a doctor's appointment that ended in "just relax and it'll happen," and a quiet, growing fear that something was wrong with me that no one was telling me.

I tried the teas. I tried timing everything around apps that gave me three different fertile windows in the same month. I read fertility blogs until 2am, and every single one left me with more questions than answers. Nobody was talking about my husband's fertility at all — as if this was only ever a "me" problem.

What changed things wasn't a remedy. It was finally sitting down with a clear framework — understand how conception actually works, identify what could realistically be affecting it for either of us, know what natural steps were actually evidence-backed instead of just popular, and know exactly when and how to ask for real testing.

That framework is what became this guide. Not a promise that it will get you pregnant — no one can honestly promise that. A promise that you will finally understand what's actually going on, and know exactly what to do next.

— Ngozi

You are not the only one

★★★★★Lagos · 2 weeks ago

I read this in one sitting because I finally felt like someone was explaining things to me instead of selling me something. I knew exactly what to ask my doctor by the end.

★★★★★London · 1 month ago

My husband actually read the male fertility chapter without me asking twice. First time this whole process has felt like "we" instead of just "me."

★★★★★Abuja · 3 weeks ago

No false promises, which I appreciated after everything else I'd tried. Just clarity — and honestly, clarity was what I actually needed.
